CENTRE FOR NANOTECHNOLOGY

The Centre for Nanotechnology at Bharath University has well equipped computational lab facility for Nanotechnology research. Centre facilitated with several techniques for nanomaterials production and characterization along with computational modeling as well as designing which is applicable for various disciplines.

Our centre already has very good computational facility for modeling and design of carbon nanotubes analysis of nanocomposites and nanomaterials. Computational nanotechnology is a new and exciting field that produces theoretical results that precede physical advancement in nanotechnology. High performance simulations based on high quality mathematical and physical modeling are at present a necessary tool to develop new technologies in materials science. This will be useful to design and produce new nanostructured special and functional materials with tailored physical and chemical properties.. We are planning to implement some more advancement in computational modeling and design.

In addition, centre has planned to implement the nanomaterials in medicine and pharma industry like gold, silver nanoparticles for nano drug delivery, nanosensors and for antimicrobial properties also. Updating with recent technological advancement to enhance the wet chemical lab setup by, housing a thin film metal evaporation unit, Chemical vapor deposition unit, Spin coater, Rota evaporator, High speed centrifuge, Mill pore distill water plant, 5-digit weighing balance, Microwave oven, Fume hood, Semiconductor parameter analyzer for electrical characterization and advanced image analysis software.

The Nano Centre will be working in multidisciplinary fields which include biomedical, biotech, civil, electrical and mechanical. This will be useful for the students to foster their career in advanced research work and technical skills.
