The centre is established for growing good quality having NLO properties (Non-linear optics) used in the fabrication of fiber optics for optical communication, Opto-electronics, micro-processors and memory devices.
Our research center (CGRC) has been involved in the field of growing quality crystals belonging to organic and semi-organic materials for the past six years.
A few good quality crystal of macro size with good NLO properties have been grown already in our center by slow evaporation of solvent technique at low temperatures.
The desired and required properties of the grown crystals like optical transparency, micro hardness, and dielectric and temperature dependent studies have been tested using the available equipments in our center.
Based on the various tests (Characterization) mentioned above are carried out for the crystals grown at our center, more than 12 research papers have been published in National and International journals.
The quality crystals developed by our center can be used to fabricate fibre optic devices which can accommodate more data in a small volume than ordinary cables.
